John broke down on the sets of Aashayein

John Abraham might be relieved since Aashayein finally releases at the end of this month, on August 27. The film is a ray of hope for the actor. Reason: he was going through a difficult patch in his personal life. Coincidentally, director Nagesh Kukunoor was shooting the film at
Pondicherry, where the actor shot his debut film, Jism, with girlfriend Bipasha Basu, who, then was just a co-star.

John BipashaGetting into character While filming Jism, he was getting romantically inclined towards Basu. Ironically, before Aashayein kicked off, their relationship went through a rough patch. Regardless of that, the actor got into the skin of his character, who is a person who understands the value of living life to the fullest.

As the shooting progressed, Abraham realised that someone was putting things in perspective, helping him understand them better.

“That’s when John understood that love and care are the most precious elements of our lives. Just after his take of the climax was okayed, he rushed to his room and broke down. Everyone was stumped,” says our source from the Aashayein crew.

After he regained composure, the actor called his family. “He spoke to his parents and brother. He also called Bipasha. At the end of their long conversation, John seemed to be at ease with himself,” adds our source.

While the actor declined to comment on his state of mind during the Aashayein shoot, he was more forthcoming on his role: “We all have a certain amount of time to live, and we should try and live it to the fullest and fulfil our wishes too.”

Bipasha Basu wants to test herself

Bipasha Basu has revealed that she wants to play more challenging roles.

The actress, who recently starred as the love interest of an army officer in Lamahaa, claimed that she wants to play serious parts as she no longer wants people to focus only on her looks.

"[My boyfriend] John [Abraham] loved me in Lamhaa. He has done a film on terrorism New York and he feels we both need to stretch ourselves as actors beyond entertainment," Basu told Real Bollywood.

"Sure I am very proud of my physique. I’ve worked hard on it. But now I’m hungering for challenges as an actress. In Lamhaa I was not only in a burqa throughout but also got a chance to understand how life is lived in an atmosphere of crisis.

"Until I finished Lamhaa I didn't notice that the only two films I’ve signed after are about burning issues."
